Modern Plus Sign Quilts Blog Hop + Day 6

Welcome to Day 6 of the Modern Plus Sign Quilts Blog Hop.  We've seen 8 of the quilts so far and have 8 more to go this week.  Today's giveaway is a 6-piece fat quarter bundle of American Made Solids.

Petal Plus

Today I'm excited to highlight the first of two applique quilts from the book.  Cheryl designed Petal Plus and I was more than happy to be able to applique and piece this one.

Petal plus is a twin size quilt measuring 68" x 88".  The print fabrics are from Farm Fun by Stacey Iest Hsu for Moda Fabrics.  The background is Bella White Bleached.

Included in the book are my detail instructions on how I prepare the fabrics and applique using a zig zag satin stitch.

I wanted to share this picture that I took when I picked up the quilt from Johellen.  It was fresh off her long arm.  Johellen quilted Petal Plus free hand using the PantoVision by Innova.

I know Julie is an expert at applique and you will love seeing what she has made...

Next up is...

Faceted Rings

Today we also share one of the two foundation paper pieced patterns.  Cheryl designs beautiful paper pieced patterns and Faceted Rings is a fine example.  I particularity like how C&T photographed this on as well.

Facet Rings is made from all Kona Cotton Solids by Robert Kaufman in Geranium, Gumdrop, Smoke, Ash, White and certainly not least, Wasabi.  You can barely see the backing, but it is a Karen Lewis Blueberry Park, an overprinted Kona in Geranium.
Now head on over to see the versions made by Cindy, Jennifer and Jessica...
