Pat Sloan Talk Radio

I was so honored to join Pat Sloan on the American Patchwork and Quilting Podcast earlier this week.  I'm not so accustomed to being in the spotlight and was a little nervous.  I was scared I would forgot my name or something.  But some friends have said they thought it went really well and one even said I sounded like a real pro!  Now, I wouldn't go that far!

I was guest #2 right after Marcia at Happy Stash Quilts.  That was a long 15 minutes to wait for my segment.

Pat and I talked about my love of making challenge quilts.  We focused on two in particular, Grandmama's Legacy of Flowers which is my favorite quilt and my most recent challenge, From Bald Eagle to Buzzard.

I also shared the story of how Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs and I became friends and eventually wrote a book together, Modern Plus Sign Quilts (affiliate link) which is due out in February 2018.

The time flew by as we didn't cover have of what we had tentatively planned to chat about.  Next up was Lindsay at Lindsay Sews and the show ended with Debbie at A Quilter's Table.  I enjoyed hearing about Debbie's thought process when designing and actually putting a voice with her face.

I hope you will listen to the recording, because it was a jam packed hour of quilty talk!  I am so appreciative of Pat giving me this opportunity.  She said we would have fun and we did!

  1. So good to hear your voice Paige, lovely accent, and I hope you will get to do another one sometime. A lot to cover in your allotted time, well done, And you didn't sound nervous at all, very composed and right at home, as if you did this all the time.

  11. I finally had a chance to listen to the podcast this morning and thought you did a great job. It was interesting to hear about how challenge projects actually challenge you in new ways. Guess that's the point right? It gave me an idea for our guild. Thanks for sharing.

  12. You did such a good job during your segment of the show! Really nice, Paige. Loved putting a voice with your face, and that voice is charming with hints of "southern." I'm very glad for you to have received this honor. You're a remarkable quilter!
