Left, Right, Left (Half Geese Units)

When sewing the half geese units for this month's assignment of Cheryl's Magnolia Mystery Quilt, for some reason I thought about the marching cadence, "Left, right, left, " and couldn't get it out of my head.

I was mainly concerned about sewing the correct amount of units, 36 left facing geese and 36 right facing geese units.

After counting out the correct number, I chained sewed the units all at once.  Here they are behind the needle.

And here are half geese units pressed and ready to go.

I'm certain this is not the layout, but I put a few up on the design wall.

Until the next instructions are released on November 2nd, I'm all set!

  1. Marbled fabrics that are perfect together . I am off to another fabric shop tomorrow to see if there are some that will be a better light, medium and dark combination. After all, a girl can NEVER have too many batiks, and as I am the driver for 2 weeks, this will be the #1 stop.

  2. Mine are done too. I like the look of your colors together, Paige! Can't wait to see the next step!

  3. So pretty! And I was finally able to get the podcast with Pat Sloan to load. I very much enjoyed listening to your interview while I buried threads yesterday evening :)

  4. Love the fabrics you're using! Looking forward to seeing the next step when you make it.

  5. Hi Paige,
Thanks for sharing that mantra . . . now I'm thinking of it, too. HAHA Nice stack of half geese just waiting to fly together on the 2nd. How nice to be all set and ready to go. ~smile~ Roseanne

  6. I am definitely going to be counting and re-counting to make sure I get 36 of each unit as well. Your units for October look great!

  7. Your "left, right, left" is so familiar! I was doing mine "left, left, right, right"! These look so crisp and I'm also looking forward to the next edition of the directions!
