What a lovely color combination from the red berries and green, although fading, leaves of the dogwood tree. I found this article rather interesting if you would like to harvest the berries to grow your own seedlings.
Happy Sunday,

Happy Sunday,
This fern, an unknow variety, was transplanted from my 'other' grandmother's yard in Mississippi. And, the creeping fig (ficus pumila) was cutting I received from my sister. I just love all the shades of green.
The creeping fig will stay green all winter, unless it dips down in the 20's for an extended period of time, but, sadly, the fern will die back as soon as we get a good freeze.
Happy Sunday,
In the past, I have left this Angel Wing Begonia planted in the ground and it has managed to survive over the winter. This spring I transferred it to a pot and it got quite large and bloomed all summer. Very soon, I'm going to bring it indoors to see how it will do as a houseplant.
Happy Sunday,
I finished Metropolis, my re-purposed challenge quilt for the Greenville MQG, at the end of July. I ran out of steam and never made a quilt label for it.
Metropolis was made entirely from men's recycled chambray shirts, well, except for the backing. So, I had this idea of using a pocket for the label. I carefully unstitched the pocket from a shirt and saved it.
I'm going to give hand embroidery a try on the quilt label which means this one will will not be as detailed as most handwritten quilt labels.
This will be my One Monthly Goal for October and linking to Elm Street Quilts.
I still remember the first time seeing a beautyberry shrub as I was out walking on Edisto Island. The bright purple berries against the green foliage are a sight to see. On a recent walk with my mom, I spotted this one in her neighborhood.
Happy Sunday,
