In Bloom #36 - Hearts-a-Bustin'

Another common name for this low-growing shrub is Strawberry Bush, Euonymus americanus.  It goes unnoticed until fall when orangey-red berries dangle from the the heart-shaped pods.  It's a favorite of deer, and, there are plenty around here, so that's the reason the leaves are so sparse.

Happy Sunday,

  1. What an unusual plant! I do enjoy the little bursts of color during the shift from fall to winter!

  2. It's interesting to see what vegetation you can find to post about each Sunday. Pretty soon you'll be posting snow pictures, right? :-)

  3. Wow, that is a pretty one, one that I don't think I see, but I will look out for it.
