In Bloom #38 + Winterberry Holly

In celebration of Christmas this week, I am sharing this red and green Winterberry (Ilex verticillata).  I quickly snapped this photo while on a walk one day in Pigeon Forge, TN.  The red berries were so vibrant, more so than a standard holly.

This is the quilt, The Greatest Gift, that I shared on my very first blog post back in 2015.

Beneath all the layers of the holiday season...the gifts, the lights, the hustle and bustle and Silver Bells, lies the true meaning of Christmas: God's greatest gift to humanity, his own Son, Jesus. Let's not forget, "Jesus is the Reason for the Season".

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11.

Happy Sunday,

  3. I love that Christmas package quilt! It's beautiful, as is your message. Jesus is THE most important reason to celebrate, and I think (I KNOW) many people forget that. Thanks for reminding all of us. Merry Christmas! Many blessings on you.
